During the Covid pandemic it has been very difficult to travel abroad from the UK. If there was a time when you could do this it was during the school summer holidays. However you took pot luck. If the Country you were visiting was on a travel corridor list then you were lucky to have a weeks uninterrupted holiday. But that was dependent on the Department of Transport and the foreign and commonwealth office not declaring your country being on a do not visit list. All lists were updated weekly and if you were unfortunate enough to land and find yourself you had to return immediately.

The notice given was very small. And the only way out was to grab your bags and then book a flight home then and there. Some though just put up with the idea that they would have to self isolate for two weeks when they returned home from their holiday come what may. This could mean that having to not eat a thing as pay would be docked whilst self isolating. The idea filled many with dread. And now coming up to Christmas there will be no travel plans made as the same virus still will be spread. No country will take the risk of spreading the virus and making things worse.

Big Debt In A Covid World.

There is now a big debt being racked up by many countries because of the Covid-19 pandemic. There is no getting round the debt as shops have to close and the business community needs a lot of help keeping afloat. The shops have all but been empty due to the virus and there is money being lost in all industries because of the pandemic. The worst hit Country America is still reeling from the last lockdown where many business just could not cope. Here in the UK there are some business’s that are surviving and some business’s are booming. And! it includes most of the internet stores.

The internet which has increased the death of the bricks and mortar high street is also creating money than losing it. Many shops just cannot compete with the internet before lockdown and now will never survive the second much shorter lockdown. Only those with an internet presence will survive. But debts will only increase with loans being handed out by the government rather than money that will help the survival of any business. Because all loans have to be paid back. If the Covid-19 pandemic is brought to a lose the business will have to struggle on. It is time to rethink this strategy.
