With the American Presidential election now well and truly over there’s only one thing that needs to happen. Even if the outgoing president Trump does not concede then the outgoing administration needs to co-operate with incoming administration’s transition team. The hold up in this could very serious not only for the US but also its allies. Namely us here in the UK. If friendly relations does suffer because the Biden Administration has to hit the ground with no information then the establishment of political relations could and would suffer.

Trumps pledge to fight the election result and denies that Biden won means there might be a very bumpy transfer of power. Mind you this has happened before. Many Many years ago some presidents even refused to leave the white house. Could history repeat itself ? I hope not. His supporters though are very Unusual because many are ready to do battle on American streets. And they are not backing down. With semi automatic weapons that might mean a gun battle with well armed supporters. I hope though things do go well for the next administration.

Another SpaceX Milestone.

Well another piece of space history has been written because for the first time a commercial company has delivered an operational crew to the international space station. Why is this history ? Because usually NASA do the space flights and commercial companies just supply the organization with of course supplies. Now it has been shown that commercial companies can take humans to explore space and not government bodies like NASA. It also means that commercial companies that can raise funds independently of government can make a contribution to space exploration.

It does not mean the death of NASA. It can still contract its work out to the companies but will officially administrate those companies by contractual means. But the news that this has happened means that the expansion in space exploration can be financed in private equity rather than government handouts. And that space is not know just the preserve of the US or any other governments. And space tourism could be the next thing on the cards if things go right. And this has paved the way for this to happen. Hopefully in 2024 there will be a moon base.
