RedFox Blog: Control From Your Computer

There is a new Gym opening up in the city I live near and the entry system is somewhat new. It is a 24/7 entry system and you control the point of entry. Instead of using the bar code on a key fob or a card you create an entry pin by going on the website and applying for an account. The when you have created this you then go to the gym and put in that code and the barrier’s open. It is a new technology and very clever piece of kit. In the minds of many this is technology going a bit too far but for those who knows how to use the tech it is fun.
Another important development my milkman is now processing payments online. Instead of the paper bills the bill is sent by email. And then you go online and pay the bill via their website. This now officially ends cheque’s because payment is now electronic. Tech is now every where and the global pandemic has fastened the progress of the process. The time you would turn up to a shop and have to write a cheque is over. And soon other ways to pay will be coming on stream. It is though the way of the future that these are happening.
Community Communication.
While still on the subject of technology the community can now use hubs online to communicate between each other. The big concern over this is are they the real people who they are meant to be. It is ok to be talking to people who you have actually have met in the skin. But! do you really know a person online. It is very understandable if you trust them in the “flesh” but if you have met them online first you do not know where they are. And counting on others is very tricky because they might know that person but then where have they met them also.
Communities are always a good way of knowing people and networking in the community. But they do not know their background and where are they getting the technology from to get on the net. Unless of course you have met them in the village or near the shops in a city. But! you really do not know them if they have met them online. Many people are so trusting. They assume that if friends have met them online then others will follow suit and let them in their lives as well. There really is no sure way of a safe meeting if this has happened.
