RedFox Blog: Road Chaos.
Post 790 25/1/21
I wrote last Thursday about farmers having difficulty in taking their life Stock to market across the English channel due to Brexit. This will have a sudden and very detrimental financial hit to our economy. Many who supported leaving the EU will have you believe the economic benefits of leaving will soon appear. The problem is how long will it take for the benefits to come about ? For some the major point of Brexit was business being able to trade more freely. Well where those benefits ? We cannot hide from the economic hit because business will go out of business.
Trading means being able to compete on the same terms as the competitor . So when we see chaos at our ports something has truly gone wrong. If the lorries cannot go across the channel in an orderly way then business will suffer. Most of the trade in the UK relies on a speedily delivered item which is delivered to the customer in time. But if the customer feels that there is no point in carrying out the business with the UK company. Then the customer will go some where else. And there is another point about paperwork. There’s loads of it so customers in the EU are finding new suppliers in the EU. So much for Brexit.
How Long Will He Last ?
Something that I have blogged about many times but has survived beyond the time that I thought he would have been gone. But he has defied all attempts to remove him. But this time he might go. This is because elections are due and everyone is getting very fed up on the way the UK government is handling Covid-19 outbreak in the UK and Brexit. His government cannot get a roadmap that brings the UK out of lockdown and keeps us safe. Lockdowns cause very big disruption and brings the economy to its knees. All of the Parliament Conservative Party ( the so called backbenchers) are now getting fed with Chaos.
They will question how the government behaves and may vote to stop more economic damage to be done. This is a dark night in the Conservative Governments books. They do have to sort out the mess that lockdowns bring and the UK government needs a plan to to keep the virus at bay and to keep everything open. But not at the expense of killing people. It can be done as other countries have shown. But some how the UK government has no idea on how to do this. Forwards we go without a plan on how things will look after the third UK lockdown.
