In much of the world there has been elections. But here in the UK those elections have been delayed. Until now. Yes! Local elections are happening in may as scheduled. It is though very Covid focused as they have to be secure of transmitting the virus. Everyone has been told to carry their own pen if possible. And there will be only a certain number of people allowed into the polling station at anyone time. Meaning there will be an increase in the number of staff at each station. It will be very scary in a place that is normally very small. Although the staff will be aware of the virus.

There is no telling if someone who enters the station has the virus and therefore could be a very scary thing to do. However there is a way of beating this and that is to vote by post. Some political parties are actually encouraging this as many may be infected if a number of infected people go into a polling station. Voting from home is also a good way of doing things as many feel their secret ballot is more secure this way. You do not have to have a reason to do this. You do not even have to have a disability to vote by post. And this increases the turn out!

Voice Technology! 17/3/21

We have discussed the computer technology of the podcast and we have discovered how to save files and move them around on devices like the smartphone. But now technology has caught up on the megaphone. It use to be a simple thing. All it was a battery and a mike. But now we can do so more like everything else. It has expanded to something more. You can now put a USB memory card into the megaphone and play anything you like. You can play music or even pre-record a message and then play it through the megaphone. This makes a megaphone a portable public address system.

Making this as powerful as you can does make the old PA system’s obsolete. because you do not have the expense of having to buy a mike and a set of speakers. Nope all you have to do is buy this megaphone and have enough people to hold it while it is playing. For larger gatherings you would have to buy a better system. But a basic thing like this with the power it has then you need nothing more. The megaphone has come a long way since it was invented. Just a tin at the start then battery power came which made it much more powerful. And now an alternative to a PA system.
