It is now that the soil should be drying out from all that rain. But! there is a known risk factor that all is not well. The weather is not being kind and nature is all over the place. At this time of year the weather should be getting warmer but unfortunately the beginning of Spring is very cold. Its not snowing but the temperature is below normal. Having a hard winter and now a not so good spring meaning the spring crops could suffer. And the lambing season is nearly upon us and its still cold. To put them in the sheds could mean that the lambs could suffer.

It has not been a good 2020 and now 2021 is becoming another challenging year. There is still the possibility of another beast from the east arctic blast as its still early to rule out such an happening. Is this the beginning of another poor harvest ? A time to ask many questions but with no answers. The soil is still wet from winter and will there be enough time to dry out the field before harvest ? Plants may suffer from this weather which is turning more unpredictable. So the way forward is not clear and the harvest will be a hazardous affair.

Hopefully A Sign Of Spring 19/3/21

As the weather is still cold for the time of year and as explained yesterday about the poor farming conditions. There is I think hope. The sun is much more warmer these days and that brings out all the blossom on the trees. But the environment has suffered from human presence. All that pollution from cars means the mean temperature of the planet keeps going up. And there is growing fear that the climate and our environment has been lost to global warming. But even though we think there is no turning back we may see a stable environment as win. But we must now do things in a different way.

We must start to control the pollution that we create. We are beginning to learn to produce more ways that electricity can drive our vehicle’s. And now everything is being powered by this wonder. But battery life is still small and it will not let you travel far either. Although you can have a full charge you will also find it difficult to recharge it on a long run. No charging points along routes makes this very difficult. Although this is gaining popularity electric vehicles still have to go a long way to replace the petrol engine. But there will be cleaner air when this happens. Hooray!
