RedFox Blog: Viral Security
Post 843 15/5/21
Seems weird writing for a Saturday blog about a virus. But! Coronavirus has brought everyday life under the microscope. We want life to be the same as it was before but the pandemic and the restrictions that have been in force is a necessary evil. Because if we did not have those restrictions then the virus would spread and many people would die. Bio security is an important thing. If we did not have it then many more people would die. But how do we enforce it ? Well there are many trained cleaners out there that do have the knowledge to keep us safe. But not many enough.
If another virus appeared then we would be in trouble. Monday sees the further easing of restrictions. But surely there will have to be some lasting restrictions that will keep us safe. Again another necessary evil. Something that will protect us when everything is back to normal. June the 21st will see the end of restrictions the so called freedom day. But surely the government should keep some sort of restrictions to ensure safety. The balancing act of economy vs health means that bio security will have to play its part in this.
Scramble To Get Home 16/5/21
After a short while being in the green zone Portugal is now an amber country. Many travel firms are now suffering as those that have booked to go away abroad are now cancelling. And rightly so! I have no sympathy because many chose to ignore the restrictions and go away abroad. I understand the disappointment that travel firms are feeling. Having set up a travel firm and now seeing all customers staying at home. It is now very serious but travel can take place in the UK as well. And this is a holiday market still very active.
Travel is at the moment suffering greatly but really is it that important enough to import a virus. The government should really step in and help those business’s that would otherwise go under. We to see airlines suffering in fact the whole travel industry is suffering. But there should be some easing in the coming months as the European Championships and the Olympics get under way. Perhaps these will ease the travel industries problems. There is nothing like sporting events to create a crowd. And! the vaccination program in many countries are going very well. Lets hope shortly that travel restrictions are eased as well.
