Mental Health is a big watch word in our society today, there are people that can cope with the ever increasing demands of our society and those that find our way of life now is to demanding and that affects our brain. Our capacity to cope is always a concern when we see the symptoms but yet we do check to see if anybody is coping. My wife is one of those that cannot cope with modern life. She has no understanding of the world we live in and thus stays behind the front door. It is hard when things go and have one wrong.
We do not the warning signs as we go about our daily lives but then we see some body struggling we then tend to ignore them. Falling off the rails is not a crime but when it happens we ourselves have no time to pick them up and dust them off. A sad thing but that is true about our busy lives. The duke and duchess of Cambridge this week attended a summit about world mental health. In some countries due to the lack of money they chain their patients to the walls. Is this humane ?
The world and the industrialised nations have got to deal with the growing number of people with mental health problems and just not ignore it. The health professionals are snowed under with the volume of people coming off the rails and the wait is getting longer and longer. We will soon end up with people committing suicide before they even get to the point of treatment. Is this also humane ? We must now invest in new training techniques to quicken the pace of training and a new dept of mental health across the world. As this will only increase.
