Writing this after yesterdays blog about mental health there is another worry that affects us all and it also affects the mentally unaware of what lies ahead if they do not seek treatment. The Police in many countries pick up the pieces of mental health they go to court and then tried. And because the only way of sending them out of harms way is to send those with mental health challenges to prison. I mean really is this a good way of dealing with the issue ? We have another mental health crisis because not only do the prisoners become psychotic but also those guarding them.

Yes even the prison officers will have the problem. As the workload gets bigger and the people sent to prison continue to have those challenges. So to will the same end up with the guards. As violence and drugs get into the prisons get worse and the money that is spent on prisons. Then more officers will leave the system in search of a better life or just leave because the work is so long and daunting. We have to spend more money on the worlds prison service as the pressure on them increases.

Can we achieve this as a goal to improve not only the prisoners lives but it surely show how going straight after prison release will benefit others too. It is time that we show them the real benefits of behaving inside can improve ones chances after release. And investing an increase in the lives of the guards quality of life can also benefit people. Its time to spend that money and to stop the heaps of rewards to the share holders of these private companies that run the worlds prison services.
