RedFox Blog: Look Out Beneath!

Talking about trees is something that would never be talked about anywhere else unless of course you have had the experience of either being hit by one or have had to stop due to a fallen tree. I on the other hand have more than enough of my time having to look after them. There are many different variety of them. There is the Horse Chestnut Tree more commonly known as a Conker tree. Then there is an Apple tree, Then there is the Oak tree. And many others. But the only time when we notice them is when the tree either becomes diseased or a branch falls down and we have to complain to have the mess to be cleared.

A fallen tree has to be cleared because if not we would not be able to use our public highways. But a tree serves another purpose. And that purpose is to clear up our CO2 gases from the atmosphere. If this did not happen then we would see more global warming. They are the biggest oxygenating plant on this planet and yet we cut them down to create bigger fields. But the global economy is now coming to the realization that trees are important. We do use them for fuel and furniture. But a sustainable source can also be beneficial to the fight against global warming.

Is Protesting Being Positive ?

Extinction rebellion with their flags flying and their banners up are on the march again. But some of their protests have enraged me and have turned me off from associating myself from some of their activities. They done this because even though Cambridge City Council put through motions supporting some of their ideas Extinction Rebellion Cambridge occupied the city councils chamber stopping debate. There has to be an organized way of doing things and yet they still did not want this. there is radical action and there is organized chaos. And I think that night was organized Chaos.

The protests I can quite clearly see their grievances. But when a politician is trying to help them come up with the goods then there has to be some thinking about who they are targeting. We all know about global warming and the harm humans are doing to this planet. But! there is a positive way of going about things and there is a bad way. And occupying a council chamber to a group that is trying to help is not the way to go. Lets see a more engaging way of protests rather than the sort Cambridge City Council found themselves in. Because if not then we will tire of these so called eco warriors.
