The Coronavirus pandemic has shown the shortcomings of the technological age. Well in the UK at least. As many people have to go online then the internet with the basic connection will be slower. Some places in the UK have full fibre broadband. This is expensive with some companies. But! with others it is cheap. Full fibre increases the strength of the signal the equipment sends so that when the end user uses it it will send quicker. Also downloads will be quicker as well. But with copper wire Broadband the signal is weaker and so therefore is slower.

With many people on the internet all at the same time the copper broadband is not coping. Because everyone is on it the signal becomes over whelmed and therefore downloads are slower. Companies that trade online also may miss out on contracts due to the slower connection. Most though enjoy fibre broadband because of the fastness of the connection. Most will pay more for the privilege. But with households now having all of their business and bills coming in over the internet. This would be out of their reach. And therefore they will have to rely on copper broadband.

A Farmers Life.

And now onto the European Unions idea on farming. It will end the subsidies from midnight on the 1st January 2021. That means that if you have not got a competitive farm. Then! you will go out of business. No holds barred. The subsidies that for many years that have come out of the Common agricultural Policy will end. And! if you support the agreement then you may fair better than most. Most farmers that voted for Brexit thinking that this was better than what the EU gave are now very disappointed. Having the market taken away from them was not on their agenda.

They wanted a better life and better prices for their product. And they thought that Brexit would deliver on those. But now they have found out that the opposite is true. The EU gave them that life. They could survive on the subsidies the EU gave them. But now have found out that the UK government would not give them nearly enough to go on. Most have not got anymore respect for the UK government having the wool being pulled over their eyes. But now they have found out. But now is too late. Some farms will go out of business for sure and there is no way round it.
