When there is a crisis there is always someone to turn to. And the Coronavirus crisis community has turned out to help. Every Community has a mutual aid group who volunteer to help deliver shopping and all sorts of different sorts of help. They and others like them are the hero’s of any country. They have put their health before others to help where there was no help before. They then receive some or no reward for their endeavors. I have blogged about this before. But! the UK was not in lockdown as we are now. And that means yet again the hero’s of the community have stepped up once again.

They will of course be stood down as the danger passes but they will need to be celebrated for their contribution. The country owes them a lot as the crisis passes. And when we look back we the community can take pride in those that stepped up to the plate. Community is place where many people look after each other even in the modern times. And when there is a crisis those that want to step up do so without question. Even at their own risk. Many thought that communities had disappeared this crisis shows that they were wrong and that community still survives!

Meeting 19/2/21

This year will see the UK chair the COP 26 meeting in June. This will be a good time as the U.S has rejoined the Paris Climate accord. But many challenges are ahead of all the countries as global warming gains pace. If we do not start our progress to a more green future then we will see climate warming gather pace even faster. As a nation we must start to cut out carbon footprint and cut down on the CO2 that we pollute the skies. But! it is not just the richer countries that need to do this. The third world countries must do this as well.

But they must not be left out because they do not have the financial muscle to carry out their targets. All the richer countries have to assist the poorer countries in investing in their green industries. All this will need some sort of financial help in conversion. We have a real responsibility in assisting these countries in doing this and I believe it is our duty to support them. And we must not turn our backs on them as we fight this crisis. Because each and every country will be affected if we do not support them. And we need them to commit to cutting their carbon footprint.
