Above is a picture of an MP3 Player. This is a portable Digital Sound device. Most music and Audio is now in Digital Form. And with it comes another unique way of storing this digital format. The Device is called a USB Flash Drive. Basically it is a USB board capable of storing Digital Information and then when there is a way of playing that information back it it transfers the what is stored as a sound. But! also this storage device can hold files that a computer can read. Digital music is also stored as files and can hold up to hundreds of albums on one USB device.

Last week I told you about the updated megaphones. These can record what you say and play it back and repeat the recording as many times as the owner likes. But! you can extend the memory by inserting a USB stick and recording what you say on the stick. But also one other major benefit is pre-recording what you want to say. It means if you have a car mounted system you could operate the device on your own. And that means that you could drive anywhere and deliver what you want to say at a touch of a switch. This is a real improvement on the old megaphones.

Sheep Files 25/3/21

With farming in such chaos because of Brexit. It comes as no surprise that the sheep is now in low demand. But not only for their meat but for their wool. The demand has tanked and is now at its lowest demand ever! This is because the EU can source much cheaper wool from New Zealand. And those imports are also coming into the UK flooding the UK market with cheap wool as well. Some farmers are now turning to the other breeds and finding other uses for wool. And one of the alternative ways of using wool is to mix it with Fibre glass and using for roofing insulation. A Novel Idea!

This would keep a house very warm and cozy. And sheep’s would then come back into very high demand. There are other breeds being trialed that means thicker wool being used for padding. It is very thick and is very easy to harvest. Just pull it off the sheep. No shearing and no outside Labour to do the job. Wool has been around for centuries and was a very big cash crop. But we must find other uses for sheep as they are a benefit to everyone. Else farmers may start to stop farming sheep and that would be disaster in the making and spell then end of sheep farming!
