An announcement has been made by NASA about its partner who will help in the settlement of the moon. The winner was of course Spacex. Blue Origin who was expecting the contract was not very happy with the outcome. It had hoped that their blue origin moon project would be the one that was appointed. But! seeing that Spacex was going to use a version of its Starship this must have swayed NASA to buy into their project. Blue origin and the Boeing Corporation which was also in contention now want to know why their designs were not picked.

For me this was very obvious. You cannot pick a design that is yet to be tested and seeing that both have not even left the design board it is hard to understand their anger. Investing millions into a project that has not even proved to work is a leap into the dark. But! if you have a design out there that is already being tested and even flying and soon will be going on its first space journey then the costs speak for themselves. Projects come on at a very slow rate and you don’t have to go far to see this. So putting your faith into a leap of darkness would be very wrong.

Very Dry 22/4/21

Again we can see the weather has been very dry. We are also experiencing very cold weather for this time of year. This again will play havoc with nature. The climate is warming but the UK is getting colder. How odd!. But it is said that when things get warmer the world will become wetter. But at the moment the world is getting very dry. However in the north and in Scotland the weather is wet. But we can be sure there will be no drought. Frost though will be a concern because young plants will be killed off including crops.

Some places have already become dust bowls. This means that dryer places will have crop failures and that means food will be in short supply across the world. But then the world climate might make up for the lack of rain. In Australia they have now had the most heavy rainfall since records. So instead of a three year drought they have floods. So in the end crops might be planted in the more wetter parts of the year. However that would mean where would get our food in other parts of the year ? And that would be a clear question to all governments.
