RedFox Blog: Voting Technology
Post 838 5/5/21
With tomorrow being polling day in the UK I wanted to look at the way polls are conducted in many other countries. The UK still relies on the principle of electors putting a cross on a bit of paper and then placing that paper into a box. While in many other countries technology has now taken over. Although the principle of placing a vote is still the same. Computers electronically record the vote. Then the machine prints out the ballot paper and that print out is then given to the counter. Its a way that is safe and secure and the one that Donald Trump claimed was fraud.
Machines can record a vote properly and does not make them appear that someone else can tamper with that vote. Its faster as well. Electronic counting machines also count the votes in America. That means there would be no mistake in the counting process. Its one of the things that the UK counters can make progress on. However in many European countries electronic counting is also present. Technology is coming along to help in the voting process and should be taken. Opportunities are coming along where no mistake can be made. And those opportunities should be taken.
Lets Grow! 6/5/21
With the record dry weather we will have to wonder what in the future will happen to growing future crops. We will have to come to understand our weather patterns and grow our crops in a different time of year. But it will affect the supplies in our shops as we will have to rely on imports to sustain our apatite while our crops come into season. This will affect our environment as well as many lorries will need to bring the food to our shops. So can we change our tastes ? We will have to try this as we cannot carry on with the traditional crops we like to eat.
And as we can see from the photo not everything is being effected by the dry weather. Could we not then introduce new crops that could feed the nations population. Something has to be done for our future as the dry weather could continue. Sandy soil is not in our interests as this will make things worse. Lets hope that our farmers can come up with solutions because if we don’t we will see drop into food poverty as food becomes expensive due to be in short supply. And like fish can we not grow our food nearer the sea or even supply the farms with water direct to them. We need solutions now to feed our nation. Today!
