Tensions are growing between China and the western powers including Japan over the constant problems in the South China Sea. There could be conflict. As it stands the Country of Taiwan is the pressure point of which Japan is allied to and therefore would go to war with China if there was a military incident. It would be nuclear and would pull in other countries like the USA and us here in the UK. Freedom of navigation in these waters is paramount and would secure the freedom of Taiwan. At the moment exercises are being carried out in the seas.

Hopefully this is just saber rattling and that an all out war is not coming but you never know. The countries of China and Japan are constantly at each others throats. There is no love lost between them. In the past there have been wars and each other have claimed victory. But this would be a war with no winners. It is very worrying but then there are always solutions. China is on a very aggressive path. And with a an authoritarian ruler in place could there be any wriggle room ? Would the president of China step away from all out war ?

Can Travel Really Survive ? 30/5/21

Only those that are in the travel industry really know what is going on in the travel industry. This is very worrying because many that are employed by the smaller companies do rely on the income this generates. But the Covid situation is not under control and therefore not really in a position to do anything to help. Governments are protecting their populations from an explosion of cases overwhelming health services and therefore putting lives on the line. But can travel ever return to anything normal ? I believe the answer is yes. People will want to travel again and therefore travel will pick up.

You have to be positive about the situation. If you are not then there would be a fall in consumer confidence and that is no good. And of course there is internal travel options. We the UK are made up of four nations each one with a separate culture. And holidays and travel can be done without restrictions. So the Travel industry can survive if they were inventive enough. Ok I do accept the foreign holiday is better than the domestic holiday and therefore has to form the bulk of the income. But it is an income that should not be missed.
